Rebecca Mead is a staff writer for The New Yorker. Born and educated in England, she left for the States in her twenties. She has also written for many newspapers and magazines, including the London Review of Books and the New York Times Book Review. Her latest book, The Road to Middlemarch, was published by Granta Books in 2014.
