Bella Lacey read English at Cambridge. She joined Granta Books in 2002 and is now Editorial Director. She devotes herself to publishing literary fiction and non-fiction of the highest quality, and works closely with authors in developing and shaping their ideas and prose. Her authors include Diana Athill, Barbara Demick, Miriam Darlington, Janice Galloway, Helon Habila, AM Homes, Michael Jacobs, Anthea Nicholson, Ted Nield, Louise Stern, Craig Taylor, and Polly Toynbee.
